私は本音だけで意思疎通をしたいと考えてきましたが、その本音は今まで色んな人を傷つけてきました。しかし、本音を言いたくても相手を傷つけたいわけではありません。そこで、「建前」や「皮肉」を使い、本音の部分を上手く表現出来るようになりたいと思うようになりました。「私が普段から言いたいと思っている本音を、相手が傷つかないように言わせていただく」とゆう気持ちで制作をしています。

Kayo Hatano said that I have always wanted to communicate only with my true feelings, but those true feelings have hurt many people in the past. However, even though I want to express my true feelings, I do not want to hurt others. Therefore, I want to be able to express my true feelings well by using "public stance" and “sarcasm”. I create art with the feeling that "I will say what I really want to say in a way that will not hurt the other peple.
